Web/FTP Sub AccountsFrom Support Center
The Web/FTP Sub Accounts section of the GCC allows you to create a separate area of your website for other people to manage. For example, if you wish to give your friend Joe a little bit of personal web space, you can create a Web/FTP Sub Account for him called joe, with his own password, and he would then access his personal space at www.example.com/~joe/ (replacing example.com with your Globat domain name).
Next, click "Web/FTP Subaccounts" to the right of "Link Account." ![]() If you have not yet added any subaccounts, your screen shot look similar to the one above. Let's go ahead and give Joe a subaccount. (Subaccounts are case sensitive, so we're going to call his account joe, not Joe). Click "Add Subaccount." Enter the desired username and password. ![]() Next, click Create. ![]() Now Joe has a Web/FTP subaccount with the username: joe and the password: j2100qq. He can use the following information to access his FTP space to upload and modify his files: FTP host: globat-example.com (Use your own domain name for your subaccounts) username: joe password: j2100qq Web Address (URL): globat-example.com/~joe/ Subaccounts are different than subdomains. A subdomain is something.example.com, whereas a subaccount is stored as www.example.com/~someone/. You have the option of ordering subdomains on the Account Interface page of the GCC. Please note: While Globat does not limit the number of subaccounts you may have, content that is posted on your domain, even on subaccounts, is ultimately your responsibility to monitor. Give subaccounts wisely, only to people you trust. All content posted on subaccounts must follow the conditions of the Globat Legal Agreements (http://www.globat.com/legal/). > Referral Status |
