Generic domain name transfer information

From Support Center

A registrar is the company that holds your domain name for you. With a registrar, you choose which web host runs your web site. To set your web host to Globat, you will need the following information:

Primary DNS/Name Server: ns1.DNSjunction.com
Secondary DNS/Name Server: ns2.DNSjunction.com

Now, to edit these settings, you'll need to visit your registrar's web site and enter your login information for that registrar (username or account number and password). Once you are successfully logged in, look for the Domain Name Management section. It has a slightly different name based on which registrar you use, so take a few moments to find this section. You may have to click another section with a title such as "Manage Domains."

Once you see your domain name listed, there should be a link under your domain name, or a checkbox next to it to edit. Select the domain name you want Globat to host, and you should then see a section called DNS servers or Name servers. From that section, you can edit the information listed above (Primary/Secondary nameservers). Once you save the changes, it will take 48-72 hours for the changes to propagate (spread) around the world. You may often be able to access your Globat account within eight to twelve hours if you are in the United States.

GCC Temporary Link URL highlighted

If you wish to access your web site before changing DNS/Name Servers, or wish to have access during the propagation period, you will find a Temporary URL link by logging into your Globat Control Panel (https://login.globat.com/) and looking at the first page titled Command Console. The link is labeled to the right of Website Link.

A Note on Domain Locks: Domain locks were introduced recently to prevent domain name theft. In order to change your DNS/Name Server settings, you may have to click a box or link to "unlock" your domain name, which simply means changes can be made. After it is unlocked, you can change the settings as instructed above. Once finished, choose the "lock" option on the domain.
