Clicking on the Email Button within GCC will bring you to the Email configuration section.
|
The Email interface of the GCC has four sections:
- Mailboxes - These are POP3 e-mail boxes that are the most commonly used form of e-mail. You can configure POP3 to work with e-mail software such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, and Thunderbird (as well as many others). For information on configuring e-mail, please see Using 3rd Party E-Mail Applications.
- Forwarders - A forwarder is an e-mail address that forwards mail to another e-mail address of your choice. The receiving address can be either an @example.com address or even a completely different domain. For example, you can set sales@example.com to forward to a Yahoo! Mail, G-Mail, or Hotmail account.
- Autoresponders - Autoresponders automatically e-mail a reply to anyone who e-mails an autoresponder address. For example, you could have an e-mail autoresponder called moreinfo@example.com, and when someone e-mails that address, it would reply automatically with any information of your choice. You can also use autoresponders for the common "Out of the Office" message, if you are on vacation or away from the Internet for an extended period of time.
- Default Email Address - A default e-mail address can be set to collect e-mail sent to your domain to any non-valid e-mail address. For example, if someone e-mails support@example.com, and you never created an e-mail address called support, it would forward to the Default E-mail address if you choose to set one.

One POP3 E-mail Box is set up automatically when you order your Globat account. It is your username @ your domain. When globat-example.com was registered, gloexample was selected as the username... thus creating gloexample@globat-example.com as our first e-mail address.
@mail / webmail Options
While most people choose to configure a program like Outlook to check their e-mail, you also have the option of using Globat's two web-based E-mail programs: @mail and Webmail.
@mail
“At Mail” is a web based e-mail program that emulates common desktop e-mail programs like Microsoft Outlook. The Professional Version Requires Internet Explorer 5 or higher or Netscape 6 or higher. There is a simple version that will work with any web browser, just select simple from the drop-down box. You can access @Mail at wm1.globat.com. Please view our tutorial on Using AtMail.
Webmail (SquirrelMail)
Webmail uses the popular SquirrelMail interface. You can access your webmail directly at webmail.example.com, where example.com is replaced with your Globat domain name. Please view our tutorial on Using SquirrelMail.
