Guide to Installing Mambo Server using Globat 1-Click™ Installer
The Guide
- 1.To install Mambo Installer, you must first point your browser at the following link (or locate it on your GCC Control Panel)
- Link: https://login.globat.com/cp2/1click_install/mambo
- 2.You should be greeted by the Introduction page to the Installer.
- At this stage, you have 2 options. If you have no preference at all to the database settings or location of the install, you can simply just click the “Install Mambo” button. (If this is the case, please skip to Step 6)
- 3.If you wish to define how the Mambo Server is installed, simply click the “Customize Install” button.
- 4.Briefly after clicking that link you will be presented with a further screen.
- The Customize Install gives you the following options:
- Database – Specify the name you wish to give your Mambo Server database, but bare in mind that due to the shared hosting environment, you can only name your Mambo Server database in this format: “mambo_(6 Characters)”.
- e.g mambo_abc123
- Username – Define a username to associate with your Mambo Server database, again this has to be unique, therefore we recommend using the same method as before “mambo_<username>”.
- Password – Specify a password to protect your Mambo database, this is clearly up to you as a user.
- Path – This allows you to specify the folder name in which Mambo Server is installed. This can be anything you wish.
- Reset DB - This option is only required to be checked if you are reinstalling Mambo Server and wish to wipe the database before it is reused.
- 5. Check over the values you have specified. If you are satisfied, click the “Install Mambo Button”
- 6. Now, might be a good time to get a cup of coffee or a drink while 1-Click Installer sets up and configures Mambo Server on your Globat.com Web space.
7. When it is finished, you will be directed to the following page:
- This means the Mambo Server Installation has completed successfully and you are now ready to utilize it.
- The installer gives you 2 options:
- i) Mambo Home: Visit the homepage of your Mambo Server
- ii) Mambo Admin Panel: To configure and get all your preferences setup right away.
- ** Remember to make a record of the username and password supplied for the administrator **
- Once logged in, it is important that you change the admin password to reduce the risk of your Mambo Server being hijacked.
