How can I sign up?
- To sign up for a Web hosting account, call us at 877-245-6228 or 323-874-9000, option 3, between the hours of 7:30am and 5:30pm Mondays through Fridays Pacific Standard Time. You can also order online 24 hours per day using our ordering page (http://order.globat.com/).
How do I check to see if the domain name I desire is available?
- Our home page (http://www.globat.com/) provides a simple form to check domain name availability.
How long will it take to activate my domain name?
- New domain name registration is generally activated within 24 hours of completing the order process.
If I am currently hosted at another hosting company and wish to move my Web site to Globat.com, how do I get started?
- Complete detailed instructions are provided upon completion of the order process. Our technical support staff will be happy to help you with any additional requests when moving your domain.

Can I access my domain name without putting the www in front of the domain name?
- Yes, you have full access to your domain name without placing the www in front it.
Can I have more than one domain under one account? How do I go about doing this?
- Yes. When signing up for an additional Web site, use your current login information on the order form.
- With Domain Pointers and our Additional Domains feature, you can have several domain names associated with just one account.
- Pointers: Pointers are top-level domains that can be used to re-direct traffic to a Web site. To order, please log into your GCC (https://login.globat.com) and use the 1-Click Upgrades feature from within your Account menu.
- Additional Domains: You can host several domains on the same Web hosting account. You will be able to have separate Web sites for your Additional Domains. You can upgrade to or use this feature by logging into your GCC (https://login.globat.com) and using the 1-Click Upgrades feature from within your Account menu.
- Subdomains: Subdomains are domains names that are variations of the primary domain name, for example, yourname.globat.com. These can be used to identify specific departments, people, and pages on your Web site. To order or to use this feature, please log into your GCC (https://login.globat.com) and use the 1-Click Upgrades feature from within your Account menu.

How many GB of transfer do you offer?
- The amount of data transfer bandwidth varies depending on the hosting package. Our bandwidth allowance is very generous and very few of our customers even come close to their bandwidth limits (if applicable). How much disk space do you offer?

How many e-mail accounts do you offer?

I know I want a Web site but I don't know anything about creating one. What kind of tools do you have to get me started?

I want to share pictures of my vacation and hobbies with people. Can I upload an album or gallery?

Does Globat.com offer anything to prevent me from getting spammed?
- Spam (also known as unsolicited commercial e-mail) is an unfortunate reality on today's Internet, and if you have an e-mail account you use regularly, you are bound to receive e-mails on a daily basis trying to sell you things you don't want or need. Sorting through these e-mails costs you time and money, so a spam blocking solution is as necessary to have as a firewall or anti-virus software. Globat.com offers the GlobNet™ software, which allows you to stop spam in its tracks. I want to sell products online, what do I need?
- All Globat.com Web hosting packages come fully prepared for E-commerce use. With free shared SSL support on all accounts, and a shopping cart system available, Globat.com places a high importance on e-commerce.
- Shared SSL means that your customers will be able to see the lock/padlock icon when using secure areas of your site, meaning that it is safe to submit sensitive data such as credit card information.
- In conjunction with Authorize.net and e-onlinedata, we also offer a merchant account service. This will allow you to process credit cards directly through your Web site. Most customers will only use credit cards on the Internet these days, so having a way to accept credit cards is essential. Their merchant account is competitive, and has no application or annual fees.
Do you offer Windows or ASP hosting?
- Globat.com Web hosting is based on a Unix platform and we do not support Windows hosting.
Add-Ons
I'm running out of disk space on my account, how do I order more?
- If you are on a Web hosting package with a set amount of disk space, for just $5 more per month you can get 50 MB additional of space added to your Web site. In the unlikely event that you should ever use up the already enormous amount of Web hosting space that comes with your account (for packages with limits), this option allows you to get more space for your projects. You can order additional space by calling 877-245-6228, option 3, and speaking with a sales person.
- Another option is to upgrade your package to one of our unlimited packages. To upgrade, please log into your GCC (https://login.globat.com) and use the 1-Click Upgrades feature from within your Account menu.
- Note: Globat.com only offers additional disk space in 50 MB blocks.
Can I buy more bandwidth for my account?
- If you are on a limited data transfer plan and need more bandwidth, prepaid bandwidth is available with 1 GB of additional transfer costing $4.00 to $6.00 a month, depending on your package. You can order additional data transfer bandwidth by calling 877-245-6228, option 3, and speaking with a sales person. You can also log into your GCC (https://login.globat.com) and use the 1-Click Upgrades feature from within your Account menu to purchase more bandwidth or to upgrade your package to one of our unlimited packages.
I need more than one domain for my account. How much will it cost to add more domains?
- If you are registering a new domain with Globat.com, a $14.95 annual domain registration fee applies. Depending on your package, their may also be an additional fee to host the domain. I need subdomains for my account. How many can I have and how much do they cost?
- Our current packages have the ability to create Unlimited Subdomains. There is a $19.95 yearly fee to turn this feature on.
- The Unlimited Subdomains feature is a great way to add to your Web site. You can set up subdomains such as family.yourdomain.com, friends.yourdomain.com, or fun.yourdomain.com. Globat.com's Unlimited Subdomains feature will allow you to add an unlimited number of these special domains as your business expands.
- To use or enable Unlimited Subdomains, please log into your Globat.com GCC (https://login.globat.com) and use our quick and easy 1-Click Upgrade feature.
I need to change the domain name on my account. How much will it cost?
- Domain name change will cost you $29.95 (One Time Setup Fee, Main Domain Name Only)
- We can help you change your domain name in our record to reflect a new domain name you have. The new domain name must be either registered with Globat.com or transferred to Globat.com.
- To change your domain name, please log into your GCC (https://login.globat.com), and use our quick and easy 1-Click Upgrade feature.
Account Administration
Do I have access to my account 24 hours a day?
- Yes, you have access to make modifications to your account 24 hours a day via the Globat Command Console, or via FTP.
How often can I upload to my site?
- You have the ability to upload and update your site as often as you like, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Technical Support
Do you offer 24-hour technical support?
- Any questions that you might have related to your Web hosting account will be answered at no charge. We offer live chat support and phone tech support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Additionally, 24-hour e-mail support is available to our customers. Technical support for software or services provided by third parties is NOT provided by Globat.com, but there are extensive step-by-step tutorials for common programs in the support section.
Do you offer phone support?
- Yes we do. We offer 24/7 phone support along with online live chat to assist you with any problems or issues you might be having with your Web site. If you prefer to put your issue in writing, we also have a very sophisticated support system and you can open a trouble ticket (http://www.globat.com/about_us/contact_us/contactform.htm) yourself to save time.
